Record reliability & export limits

Effective October 16, 2026 · Life, Apparently Brand by Danielle Blenkush

Are exports certified?

No. Life, Apparently exports are not certified records. They are reports of information stored in the app, prepared by a circle parent using selected dates and sections. We do not provide notarization, a custodian-of-records attestation, an independent audit or a guarantee that a court will accept them.

The generated date identifies when the report was prepared; it is not a certification. A child's “Verified” label records a parent's review, not independent verification of the information.

What supports record reliability

  • Account attribution: message submissions are tied to the signed-in parent's account. Access checks require the sender to match that account and the conversation to belong to the same circle. This identifies the account used, not independently the person using it.
  • Message timestamps: the database sets the message creation time when a message is inserted, rather than accepting a date supplied by the sender. This records submission time, not when an event described in a message occurred.
  • Append-only messages in ordinary use: parents and helpers cannot update or delete sent messages through normal app access. Database triggers reject direct message updates and deletions. This safeguard applies to messages, not every record in the app.
  • Circle-based access: database access rules restrict records to authorized circle members, with additional parent and feature-permission checks. These are access controls, not independent proof that entered information is true.
  • Recorded workflow actions: expense approval, reimbursement and receipt confirmation record the responsible parent's account and action time. They represent in-app declarations, not confirmation from a bank or payment provider.

What the records do not prove

Schedules and custody-day totals describe planned arrangements, including recorded accepted changes; they do not establish actual custody attendance or compliance with a court order. Handoff notes, checklists, expense descriptions and amounts are member-entered information and may be incomplete or mistaken. Unlike messages, other shared records can change through permitted controls; the export is not a complete version history of every change.

Read receipts are recorded when the app opens a conversation for the account. They do not prove that a person read, understood or agreed with a message. Read receipts appear in the Messages view and its printout; the unified Records export currently includes message text, sender, timestamp, conversation and context, but not read receipts.

Account names can change. Printed names reflect the names available when the report is generated, not a separately verified legal identity. Times are displayed using the viewing browser's locale and time zone; the unified packet does not label the time zone.

Can someone independently verify a PDF?

Not through an independent verification system provided by this app. Exports do not include digital signatures, cryptographic integrity proofs, trusted timestamp certificates, a verification code or a public verification portal. There is no app-provided way to prove that a downloaded or printed copy has not been altered.

An authorized parent can compare a report with records still available in the app. That is an in-app comparison, not independent authentication, and later edits to editable records or membership changes may affect the comparison. The service does not provide a certified chain of custody or claim that records are tamper-proof against privileged administration. Valid privacy requests and legal obligations may also affect retention.

Selection and completeness

The report covers only the sections and dates selected by the exporting parent. Custody totals use scheduled days; expenses use the entered expense date; handoffs use the handoff day; messages use their recorded creation date. A swap request is included if its request date or start date falls within the selected period. Requests spanning the period can be omitted if neither of those dates is inside it.

The unified packet is not a complete account archive: it does not include every attachment, expense-action detail, read receipt, family profile or access-history entry. A PDF is produced by your browser's print function; requesting print does not confirm that a PDF was successfully saved.

Using records in mediation or court

Keep the original exported file and note the selected dates, sections and browser time zone. Avoid presenting a selected packet as the complete history. Preserve relevant supporting documents separately and ask your attorney or the receiving court what authentication, disclosures or additional evidence they require. Life, Apparently does not provide legal advice or guarantee admissibility.
